Grades 3-5: Story Camp

Put your story ideas on paper, or discover new ideas with the help of other writers.

Grades 6-8: Writing Circle
Session 1 Instructor: Erin James, Henley Middle School THIS GROUP IS NOW FULL

Spend the week playing with different plots and prompts, creating characters, and responding to fellow writers' work.

Grades 9-12 and 2014 High School Graduates: Writing Workshop
Session 1 Instructor: Charlotte S. Wood, Albemarle High School THIS GROUP IS NOW FULL
Session 2 Instructor: Jordan Taylor, St. Anne's-Belfield School ONLY ONE SPOT LEFT

Create new work and polish existing pieces (poetry, fiction, movie scripts, etc.) with supportive feedback from the group.


Limit: 10 students per age group, per session. Snacks and walks outside will be incorporated into the daily activities. At the end of the writing camp session, we'll have a reading for parents and friends. Each writer will be published in our writing camp magazine. Fee includes snacks, writer's notebook and one copy of the magazine.

All instructors are schoolteachers with creative writing experience.

Thanks to the generosity of the Bama Works Fund of the Dave Matthews Band in the CACF, some scholarships are available for students from low-income families. In order to apply, please download and fill out our Scholarship/Subsidy Form and send it to us with your class registration and partial payment.

PLEASE NOTE: WHEN YOU PAY VIA PAYPAL, YOU WILL STILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE ENROLLMENT AND PERMISSION FORM AND RETURN IT TO US. YOU WILL BE GIVEN ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO DOWNLOAD IT AFTER YOU COMPLETE YOUR PAYPAL TRANSACTION.

 FEES:

Register before March 1: $200 per session
Between March 1 and March 31: $220 per session
April 1st or later: $235

Refund Policy: If you cancel your registration on or before June 1st, you are eligible to receive a full refund. If you cancel your registration on or before July 1st, you are eligible to receive a refund for half of your original payment. Cancellations after July 1st will not be eligible for a refund.
